Peters Pence 2nd Collection June 29th
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
On the weekend of June 28 and 29, 2025, our Archdiocese will take up the annual Peter’s Pence Collection. This special collection supports the Holy Father’s charitable outreach, offering aid to those suffering from war, persecution, natural disaster, and poverty around the world.
This year, our Church begins a new chapter with the election of Pope Leo XIV. As he commences his ministry as Successor of Peter, the Peter’s Pence Collection is a tangible way for Catholics across the globe to stand in solidarity with our new Holy Father and his mission to serve Christ through service to the poor and suffering.
Peter’s Pence is more than a collection—it is an expression of our communion with the Universal Church and the Bishop of Rome. Through your generosity, the Holy Father is able to extend the mercy and compassion of the Church to those on the margins of society.
I encourage you to prayerfully support this important collection. Together, we can help Pope Leo XIV bring the healing love of Christ to those most in need. To learn more, visit www.usccb.org/peters-pence.
May God bless you abundantly for your faith and generosity.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend George Leo Thomas, Ph.D.
Archbishop of Las Vegas

Prayer for St. John Paul II
Roman Catholic Church
Good and Gracious God...
We thank you for having graced the Church with St. John Paul II. Grant us, by his intercession, and according to Your will, the graces we implore as we strive to build a new parish community.
Hear our prayers for our new Church. Send forth your Spirit that we may humbly be guided by Your Divine Will. Touch our hearts with true generosity to raise up a house of God for the inspiration and renewal of all Your faithful.
We ask this in Jesus’ Name... AMEN

Jubilee Year 2025
The Late Pope Francis recently proclaimed 2025 to be a Jubilee Year...and invited all Catholics to embark on a journey as "Pilgrims of Hope". The symbol of the Jubilee year is "Opening the Door". What exactly does this mean... and exactly should this mean to YOU? It will be different for each individual. Whether you journey to Rome...or to "home"...may this be a year of deep spiritual renewal for each of us. Learn more about this Jubilee Year through the link to the US Conference of Catholic Bishops website www.usccb.org
